Design Your Garage Door: See It on Your Home First
A garage door is usually the largest single surface on the front of a Houston home — often more visible from the street than the front door. Getting the style right matters, and you should not have to guess from a brochure.
Send us a photo. We will show you what fits.
Skip the design software. Text or email us one photo of your garage from the street, and we will come back with two or three doors that actually suit your house — with a real installed price, not a range.
Stand at the curb and take one photo of your garage, straight on.
Text it to (346) 434-8345 or email info@garagerepairmaster.com with your address.
We reply with options that fit your opening, your HOA and your budget.
The four styles you are choosing between
Nearly every residential door sold in Houston falls into one of these. Knowing which one you want narrows the conversation enormously.
Raised panel
Rows of rectangular raised sections. This is what came on most Houston homes built from the 1990s onward, so it is almost certainly what you have now.
It is the cheapest to replace like-for-like and the easiest to get past an architectural committee, because nothing visibly changes from the street.
Carriage house
Built to look like old side-hinged barn doors, but it rolls up like any sectional. Usually paired with decorative handles and strap hinges, and a row of windows across the top.
Very popular through Cinco Ranch, Cross Creek and the newer Katy and Fulshear builds. Costs more than raised panel and usually needs HOA sign-off.
Flush or modern
A flat or lightly ribbed face with no panel detail. Clean horizontal lines, often with a long narrow window band.
Less common in Houston master-planned stock, but the right call on contemporary and custom builds where a raised panel would look dated.
Full-view glass and aluminum
An aluminum frame holding glass or acrylic panels. Striking, and popular for converted garages, gyms and workshops.
Two things to know: it is heavier, so the spring setup has to be matched properly, and insulation is limited — which matters in a Houston summer.
Brands we install
We are an independent company, so we are not tied to one manufacturer. That means we can match what is already on your street rather than selling you whatever one brand pays us to move.

What actually decides the job
Your opening size matters more than the picture. Most Houston homes run 16×7 for a double or 9×7 for a single, but builders vary and a door that looks right still has to fit the opening. We measure before anything is ordered — no exceptions.
Insulation is invisible but you will feel it. An attached garage in Houston heat makes a real difference to the rooms above and beside it. Two doors that look identical from the curb can be R-6 and R-18. Ask about it when we quote.
Your HOA may have a say. In Katy, Cypress and The Woodlands especially, architectural committees often have to approve a change in door color, style or window layout. A like-for-like replacement in the same color is usually straightforward. We will tell you exactly what we are installing so you can submit it.
Windows change the price and the approval. A top row of windows brings real light into the garage, and it is the single most common thing an HOA pushes back on. Clear, frosted and tinted glass all behave differently in afternoon sun.
